About the Chartered Quality Institute

The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) is the global chartered body for quality professionals. They improve the performance of organisations by developing their capability in quality management. They define and lead the quality profession, setting the standards for its capability and scope through the CQI Competency Framework.

The challenge of hiring a Member Journey Adviser

The CQI had exciting plans for the growth of their team and were looking to hire a Member Journey Adviser on a permanent full time basis. With the end of the year fast approaching, the challenge was finding suitable candidates quickly to fit in with their desired timescales.  They ideally wanted someone to start in post by the beginning of January.

Timeline

  • We presented the first candidates within 10 days of our initial contact with the CQI.
  • There was a 2 stage interview process.
  • Fortunately we have an established candidate pool in this space and we also understand some of the unique challenges when hiring such specialist roles within this particular sector. We were acutely aware that applicants in this field were likely to have multiple interviews scheduled elsewhere due to the demand for their skills. This increased the risk of applicants withdrawing from the process as they were likely to be offered a role at another organisation.  To mitigate this risk, we presented CQI with a larger than normal shortlist of suitable professionals and encouraged them to see as many as they realistically were able to, so we provided a slightly larger pool of 7 professionals to mitigate this risk.
  • We had an offer and job acceptance 2.5 weeks from submitting applications. The successful applicant started the first week of January, ready to embark on this exciting opportunity within CQI’s ideal timeframe.

Services delivered

During the campaign to fill the Member Journey Adviser position at CQI, TPP provided a robust, tailored and inclusive recruitment service as outlined below.

  • Initially, we conducted a comprehensive job briefing meeting to thoroughly understand the role requirements and the recruitment challenges faced by CQI.
  • This was followed by providing CQI with insights into the current candidate market, focusing on the availability of candidates with the necessary skills and experience, and how the offered package might align or present challenges in attracting suitable job seekers.
  • Writing a compelling and inclusive job advert that would appeal to the relevant audience and showcase the best aspects of the role and organisation.
  • Conducting an exhaustive screening of all applications to filter the most suitable candidates. This process extended to detailed candidate screening and interviewing, where we assessed each candidate's suitability for the role based on skills, experience, and alignment with CQI's values and organisational aims and objectives.
  • Facilitating the arrangement of interviews, ensuring a seamless and efficient scheduling process.
  • Managing the offer and negotiations

Results achieved

TPP managed to successfully deliver a candidate that not only fit the brief but has also become an integral part of the team, within a very limited timeline to beat the incoming seasonal holiday.  We exceeded the Member Journey Manager’s expectations at the Chartered Quality Institute and are currently assisting with further growth of their department. Our sector knowledge and developed network of candidates in the membership space was integral in steering our approach to this recruitment challenge. This highlights the effectiveness of our tailored recruitment strategy and working in partnership with our clients to exceed their expectations of a recruitment partner.
